This album has a surprise in store for purchasers - when you open the CD, the cover unfolds into a mini-poster six times the size.

The original painting was twice up in size, and swallowed about seven weeks of my time. Drawing and rendering the doll orchestra was particularly difficult. I checked what instruments were being played with Gert-Jan Blom, but even with the expanded size, I wasn't able to include as many musicians (nearly 60 on some tracks) as played on the album.

The painting was rendered in Talens Ecoline liquid watercolours and Caran d'Ache coloured pencils on Fabriano 4 NOT paper. Some effects involved rubbing colour pencil shavings into the artwork. A little bit of red ballpoint drawing was used also.
